Reimagining Theological Education at the Imaginarium

We were thrilled to host our inaugural Imaginarium at the Amoris Christi Campus, a serene 5-acre retreat center in Delray Beach, Florida. Over three days, leaders and representatives from across our cooperating network gathered to address the shifting landscape of theological education, candidly sharing institutional challenges, fresh insights and hopes for the future.

Keynotes & Conversations

The event featured a lineup of speakers who brought macro demographic data, regional context and spiritual depth to our discussions:

  • Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Deasy (Director of Institutional Initiatives at ATS) led three critical sessions examining post-pandemic student isolation, accelerated institutional disruption and strategic pathways toward re-alignment and re-engagement.

  • Dr. Sue Gallagher (FCTS Board Member and Chief Innovation Officer at the Children’s Services Council of Broward County) provided vital context on the unique social and community landscape of theological education in South Florida.

  • Dr. Sunil Nadarajan (Amoris Christi) guided participants through a reflection on "Healing of the Imagination."

A Deep Dive into AI & Theological Higher Ed

Responding to strong interest from attendees, the final day turned its focus toward artificial intelligence:

  • Rev. Timothy J. Cusick, S.T.L. (Vice-Rector and Academic Dean at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary) anchored the topic in theological tradition, exploring notes on post-humanism, trans-humanism and AI through Church documents.

  • Chadd Feyas (Instructional Designer at Florida Atlantic University) followed with a practical session on "AI in Theological Higher Education: Friend or Foe?", exploring institutional applications and classroom integration.
