The Automotive Technology program focuses on all phases of automobile maintenance and repair. Emphasis is placed on engine tune-up, brake repair, complete front-end service, and engine repair. The goal of the program is to expose students to the complete automotive field and provide them with skills to work as qualified apprentices.

The Carpentry program develops student skills for eventual entry-level career opportunities upon graduation. Safety is of paramount importance and students begin their training with a strong foundation of safety measures and build upon those critical skills for the entire time in the carpentry program.

Collision Repair and Refinishing

The Collision Repair and Refinishing (aka Auto Body) program focuses on the repair of automobiles - but other surfaces are also incorporated. Students are exposed to comprehensive training in the repair of surfaces. Students weld, cut, prepare and refinish on a variety of projects, many on vehicles owned by customers from the community.

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology curriculum follows the same state requirements for the preparation for state cosmetology licensure. Hours spent in the FCTS Cosmetology are applied towards the 1,000 hours necessary for licensure. (100 for nail technicians). The program provides hours of experience and an associated curriculum that prepares students for the state exams that they must pass in order to work as stylists.

The Landscaping/Horticulture program teaches the proper maintenance and operation of a variety of equipment including tractors, loaders, forklifts, and chainsaws. Soil science, plant identification, entomology, plant physiology, environmental control, bedding plant production, greenhouse operation, plant propagation, arboriculture, and integrated pest management are explored in the curriculum.
