What’s Happening in the Library?New Titles
We are constantly working to add new titles to the library, and already this year we have added nearly 600 books! The FCTS Library was again the recipient of a generous donation from a magazine editor. She donated more than 200 books – all recently published titles, and all of high interest for our students.Free Book Friday
We put out a cart of gently-used books that are available for the taking each Friday. These are mostly donated titles or preview copies that cannot be cataloged, and it’s a great way for students to develop their own personal libraries. If you’d like to participate in this book swap, drop by on Friday mornings. We’re always taking donations!
Thank you to faculty who have donated books that might be of interest to our students. If you have books you'd like to donate, please see me.
We are thrilled to be co-sponsoring the FCTS Library’s first author visit! In conjunction with the Gay-Straight Alliance’s “Ally Week,” the library will be hosting Ellen Wittlinger, author of more than a dozen books for teens and recipient of the Printz Honor for her novel, Hard Love. Wittlinger will be visiting the school on November 19th. Students who signed the “Ally Pledge” were invited to the author talk, but all are welcome after school for informal time with the author.
Faculty - please note that the library will be closed for the author event 6th period (Thursday 11/19/15).
